After reading this article. And then this Article . I start to wonder what type of lifestyle choices i will set for my future. Will i become a couch potato? Will i decide that it is too hot or cold outside so i will just stay put inside?
Canadians are becoming fatter and heavier. It's a fact. So the choice is individual, but its also collective. Let me explain.
I want to live in a community that is active and people are healthy and happy. That is why i am pushing to get people out and active. Doing my part to make it easier and safer for people to exercise. Making changes to our beautiful town so that people get to appreciate it for what it is. Rather than take it for granted. We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Just ask Sid Fuez.
My job is to make moving around town without a car easier. The choice of getting out of the car and walking or biking to work, well that is yours.
There are many reports available that list that the more people that are out and about, the more other people that normally wouldn't get out, do get out. It is a strange effect, and I'm not sure what to call it, but i sure do like it. Wouldn't it be great to one day know that you don't need to worry about your kids walking to school across Highway 95?

Inspiring thoughts. I have committed to walking to work. It's not much but I'm glad that I do it.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that my work is flexible, so those mornings when I'm running a little late and am tempted to drive. I know that work won't mind if I walk and I'm 15 minutes late. I make up that time at lunch or by staying late.
